The Jacques Cousteau Coastal Education Center in Tuckerton, New Jersey serves as the hub for education and outreach programs associated with the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve. The Center is a state-of-the-art facility including a classroom equipped with video conferencing, Internet capable computer workstations, a library of K-12 curriculum materials, and a 16-bed dormitory. Managed by the Institute of Marine & Coastal Sciences at Rutgers University, the Center is designed to primarily serve adult learners including K-12 educators and coastal decision-makers. The Center also provides programs for families, senior citizens, and students both at the Center and through one of our Reserve partners, the Tuckerton Seaport.

Directions:

Take the New Jersey Garden State Parkway - Exit 58 (Rt. 539). Go south on Rt. 539 towards the Tuckerton Seaport/Borough of Tuckerton. At the third light (intersection with Route 9) make a right onto Route 9 south. At the next traffic light, make a left onto Great Bay Blvd. The entrance to the Education Center is ~ 1/4 mile on the right hand side, just after the Radio Road intersection. Look for a shell driveway and a silver mailbox (#130) on your right. The building is set back slightly from the road - if you go past the Tuckerton Dental Office, you have gone too far!
