COASTAL RESOURCE REPOSITORY

The new Jacques Cousteau Coastal Education Center in Tuckerton, New Jersey serves as the hub for the JCNERR Coastal Training Program (CTP). The Education Center features a state-of-the art classroom for CTP and education programs, and is equipped with multiple computer stations and projection capability, as well as the ability to participate in distance learning opportunities.

Through the CTP, the Reserve is dedicated to providing coastal managers with the most current management tools and resources to support their decisions. The Coastal Resource Repository, located within the Coastal Education Center, provides managers with a range of resources, including: scientific and technical reports and books, model management plans, static maps, dynamic maps using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) technology and model ordinances. Coastal managers are able to use these materials not only to develop the skills to arrive at more informed decisions, but also to physically plan their management strategies and assess the potential effects of their decisions immediately and in the future.
